Making Athens a Better Place to Live and Work

Welcome to the City of Athens Human Resources web page. We believe that the most important resource of any organization are it's employees. Currently, the City of Athens employs 122 full time and 3 part-time employees in 9 departments. We also employ approximately 60 employees on a part-time/seasonal basis (April through September) in our Parks and Recreation department.

The Human Resource Department consists of the Director and an Assistant who are responsible for all personnel functions for the City. The objective of the Human Resource Department is to offer competitive pay and benefits, fair administration of polices, and a rewarding career that meets our objective of providing excellent service to the citizens of Athens.
